At ease in work gear
There aren’t a lot of women who work in manufacturing. I am one.
I live in a trailer in Oklahoma with the youngest son and the dog named Freya. The oldest son is helping to build destroyers for the Navy; the middle son is studying Chinese philosophy.
I have a white collar education and had a blue collar job…one sweet combination. Now I’m going to grad school. Maybe I’ll go to law school. I could graduate by the time I’m fifty. Let’s say forty-nine. That’s plenty of time for another fulfilling career, I suppose.
My steel-toed boots still sit on the top shelf of the closet next to my four-inch heels. Now that’s a balanced life.
